I am a gadget whore I think. I want anything with is thin, skinny, pink, or bling. And if they sux I return it.
If Amazon was cheap, I would buy lots of Amazon stocks. Amazon.com is a little bookstore gone big in a big way, and lately it is becoming really neat considering the stuff they are offering for large web scale computer like the Compute Cloud EC2 and the Mechanical Turk for on-demand scale workforce.
And of course, since lately I’ve been reading. A lot. And I really want a Kindle 2. I want an eBook reader which I can bring everywhere and throw ten books in my bag. I like the smell of new books, but when books get old they become silverfish attracters! I want to get the local newspaper and magazines on the go. To get most books at 9.99USD a pop. And to read on the electronic ink! I think Amazon.com has nailed the eBook industry. Just wait and see.
So what’s stopping me of course is:
1. The Kindle 2 is not available in Europe or anywhere else other than the USA! Due to possibly Whispernet and how it connects free to wireless networks within the US to get the eBooks.
2. It’s way too expensive at 359USD for a Kindle! I would pay at most 200USD for a Kindle 2.
3. I think there are a few more design issues. And it needs color. Imagine reading your magazines on the eBook with color!

I know I know I know….I want a kindle but it looks a bit….meh. I would LOVE one of these K2’s when they get them over here and I agree….waaay to expensive!
Oh yes the K2 is exactly what I want in an eBook reader. I like the profile now, but it could be better! And cheaper!
I am so tempted to buy one…but I keep imagining that apple is going to surprise everyone with an ibook type kindle rival, which will throw me into a complete state of regret for buying the kindle 2..??!!
I don’t think that Apple is going to come out with an eBook reader.. but I’m still going to wait for more features from K2!
