Haven't you heard of the Playbook?

I have an iPhone confession to make

iPhone

After blogging about how I don’t like an iPhone… You may have noticed by now that I bought an iPhone!!!

Females are so fickle minded especially when it comes to shopping isn’t it!!! No, I never thought that I would buy an iPhone in the same week I bought an iPhone. It all started with Skype, and how I was going to actually use Skype, and everything related to Skype. Then I was talking to my dad about it and I thought I might as well get an iPhone, so begins my first venture into the smartphone era.

Yes, I also know… Probably tomorrow or in two weeks Apple is going to announce the new iPhone with great new features, twenty new colors, thin as a sheet and everything. But I figured that technology changes fast anyway and I would probably want every new thing Apple comes out with and that my MacBook is already obselete. So I figured heck it all, and I bought the iPhone, selling off the iPod which resulted in some drama.

I got the white one naturally, because it looked pretty and I didn’t want a manly phone. Second because it was 16GB and I wanted to watch movies on my iPhone. My shopping process starts from color and design rather than anything else.

The back side of the iPhone:

The side profile of the iPhone. I think its a little fat, but its supposed to be only 0.48 inch. If you put a case its just going to be a fat phone.

Since I took a photo of me and the LG Ice Cream – which I still use because my work number is on it. I decided to take a photo of me with the iPhone for posterity.

Well the verdict? I really like it, although I could have lived without it since I mentioned before that I have WiFi at home and at the office and could do without the 3G. Its very convenient, but I paid for that convenience – 30EUR/month. But since you have probably read ten million reviews about the iPhone on how revolutionary it is already, I shall just say what I hate about it, no I’m not going to take about (no cut and paste) things which have been mentioned about OS 3.0 which all of you already know:

(1) What’s wrong with the battery??? It lasts till about 6pm everyday when I have everything set as default – data on, WiFi on, light set to medium. As such, I bring my charger everywhere. But note, this phone is new, I cannot imagine when it gets past its 400 charges and the battery life has dropped to a quarter of a day?

(2) Its a little thick and big, so I cannot stuff it into my jean pocket anymore

(3) The camera is not that great, and I really want to take videos on it

(4) Due to restrictions, I cannot download apps from the App Store with 3G

However, otherwise, I think this is the best phone I have ever owned. Except that it’s kind of hard to make phone calls. Now, I will never go back to a normal phone ever again. Darn, you know what a Web 2.0 addict I am, and now I have it in my pocket. Its a point of no return…

Next post up, the fabulous apps you must possibly have on your iPhone!
