Since I got my iPhone in April, so has my dad and b – both 16GB White! I seem to have some influencing prowress around here.
Anyway, just saw something which caught my eye, There’s a company called Uncommon which is offering customized iPhone cases etched with embedded 3D design – what better news could this get? It also offers a whole bunch of artwork by progressive artists, something like Moo.com but for the iPhone. Check out Getuncommon.com, I think this rocks, would be nice if someone had a real case to show how it is like.

A kind of backdated post. Nonetheless. I’ve been awfully busy with work and fixing a whole lot of things – like buy a house!
Anyway, from October 5 – 8 I was JAOO-ed at the JAOO 2009. It was my first JAOO and “ontzettend bedankt” to Google who gave me the Google Travel and Conference grant for the conference.
My first conference since I started work and certainly my first time in Denmark, and Aarhus – which I was told that it was one of the three “technical” cities in Denmark. Little known fact, the V8 engine which powers Google Chrome is actually developed by a small team of Googlers located in the building at the back of Aarhus University.
Overall I had a great time there listening to all the Agile and Java gurus. I also met a couple of new girls and Linda summed up my favorite lecture right here about Linda Rising and Fearless Change. Everyone (technical and not) should take a look at that.

Nespresso Customer Service is the way it should be. After ten months of usage, my Aeroccino died. It didn’t want to switch on, and no amount of coaxing would wake it up again. So back to Nespresso it went.
I figured them to fix it and tell me to wait a couple of weeks. Instead, Nespresso gave me a brand new Aeroccino Plus along with a two year warranty starting from now. I mean that’s the way customer service should be – no waiting, no sending here and there, no parts exchange, just plain exchange for the day it broke. I’m so happy with Nespresso right now, I’m never going to buy another brand of expresso machine until whenever.
Anyway, for friends I’ve haven’t invited for ages for coffee, now you know why, now I make perfect lattes once again.

This is not a love story, it is a story about love.
Someone told me to watch 500 Days of Summer because she’s called Summer. I really like Summer, Tom is sad to watch, but somehow in Summer, she knows that he isn’t the One and you really can’t blame her. The thing is, Summer states from the very beginning that they are just friends, and she repeats it many times over the course of everything. Tom, on the other hand, goes along with hope between expectations and reality, which result in him being totally in love with Summer. The relationship is doomed from the start with Summer counting down the 500 days where it started and ended.
There’s a couple of gems in there which if you can figure it out in a very cryptic sense:
You’ve always done what you wanted, don’t you? You never wanted to be anybody’s girlfriend, but now you are somebody’s wife.
Summer: I woke up one morning and I just knew.
Tom: Knew what?
Summer: What I was never sure of with you.

During JAOO, I met Linda from JDuchess, thought she was an awesome person who was trying to recruit more women in Java. Nonetheless, here’s me with the JDuchess buttons.

Some more Vopium news…
We are proud to announce that Vopium WiFi is now available for Smartphones with Windows Mobile (OS 6.0 and up). Now, Windows Mobile users can call other Vopium WiFi users for free and obtain great savings on all their international calls both inside and outside Wi-Fi zones. You can also avoid roaming charges when abroad. Vopium automatically detects when users are connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot and routes the call over Wi-Fi. Outside Wi-Fi zones international calls are routed as a local call instead.
Vopium WiFi has been available for iPhone users and Nokia users for almost a year and will soon be available on a range of other Wi-Fi enabled handsets as well.
If you are already a Vopium user with Windows Mobile, simply log in to your Vopium account and download the latest version to your mobile by pressing the green “Get” button placed next to your phone number on your dashboard. If you are new to Vopium, start by signing up and installing Vopium on your mobile.

I’ve blogged a bit about Kindle, but right now, Amazon has released Kindle for International Wireless. I really want an eBook reader – I admit, I have a huge manifestation of books which I need to put… somewhere.
The issue now? Price. Color. New releases.
Still, we’re on the right track.

Well, more technical posts to come soon, as my vacation is, coming to a close. Spent alot of time revisiting old things, out of nostalgia and thankfulness – for the people who made me who I am. On another note, I did read a whole ton of business/marketing books, and spent six hours doing my hair! There’s also a very sci-fi geeky movie which I’m going to catch – its called the Surrogates, like a reality visualization of Second Life, I’m so looking forward to watch that!
See you all in the Netherlands!

There’s this crazy store called Yodobashi Camera in Osaka in which drew out all the energy out of me in a couple of hours. Its somewhat like the Japanese consumer electronics galore with every single section of the place screaming at you to say: Buy me! Anyway, I did take a whole bunch of pictures starting with the calorie monitor, somewhat like DirectLife. I’m trying my best to do my own version of Japanese-Chinese translation on whatever I was actually seeing…

Wireless fire alarms connecting the house together – I think.

Very cute earphones. That said, it seems that shopping in Japan is solely catered for women. 11 levels of shopping centers with one floor for men. And everywhere is full of thigh-high socks, thigh-high boots, sparkling stuff, dresses, clothes, makeup, and pink electronics.

Handphone chargers so cute it must be illegal!

Solar panel handphone chargers! I wonder how long would it take to charge one since it is really tiny. Sanyo had its own large sized ones though, but Japan has every single thing forseeable!!!
